Lucas Herbert finished T7th at Dunhill Links on the European Tour to jump from the 64th to 50th spot on the Race to Dubai rankings. The Top 60 players get a start in the lucrative final event of the season in Dubai.
Herby has had a fantastic season so far in Europe, with 6 Top 10’s in 17 events and for the most part, without his absolute best game.
One of the most pleasing things for me about this year has been the way Herby’s Self Management out on the golf course when his B-C & D Game show up. He has accepted what game has he has for that day and focused on trying to get the lowest score possible with that game. Herby hasn’t tried to “Fix” things out there on the course and just understood that the golf course isn’t the time or place to be working on his mechanics.
He described this week as “A Good Bad Week”.
This type of Self Management and Expectation Management will be a topic for some upcoming video content, so keep an eye out for the Expectation Management video that will help you to learn how to get the most out of your B-C & D Games.
